How much of that TCPIP software still running and still operate
classic BBS part too?
I'm always have fun to look at R-lines of most packet bulls
that read here, and statistics looks like most world's
BBS'es run on FBB and BPQ software, with some of BCM and DPBOX
soft in central EU mailboxes.
Use of NOS'es is very little now, compared to 90's and beginning of 2000's.
It looks like time of xNOS usage for classic ham BBS network is almost gone.
Maybe someone have better, software-generated statistics for whole BBS?

I'm see .EURO is too assigned to someone, but no detail data is available.

Almost nobody in 20+ years adopted proposed 4-letter system till now,
so there is not really hope that someone will lobby our interest.
And yes 44.x.x.x subnet is very good piece of cake that may be
pickup'ed in future by commercials, unfortunately...

Please understand, there should be some other solution,
not just rename top domain for BBS continents,
until Internet TLD's again assigned one of them. :-)
May be we need to add some ID word in front of current 2-chars continents
codes, but we need first to 100% reserve it with IANA and TLDs!
If last will not done, there is no sense to change anything.
