Hi Beatles fans,
Those of you who ever watched Ed Sullivan on CBS remember how he started his
show with "Tonight, a really big shoe..." and stood there wringing his hands
looking doubtful.
"...and after a few seconds of rapturous cheering from the audience..."
You've GOT to be kidding me! Those teeny boppers aka bobby soxers were
screaming and fainting through the whole Beatles performance and an engineer
in Master Control had the audience mics up too high so all that could be
heard was caterwalling and I don't mean the Beatles trademark WOOOOO at the
end of every stanza. The whole thing was recorded for posterity using the
DuMont video to film system and later transferred to VHS tape and later still
to DVD so if you think I'm kidding watch it for yourself, just don't waste
your time turning the sound on. (;->)
Oh, for those of you who remember Davy Jones (the cute one with the English
accent) of The Monkees remember his then out of style Beatle haircut. Those
of you older still such as I am remember it was previously called a bowl
haircut, put a bowl on the kid's head and cut around the edge. The Beatles
were hardly original, but they did come from the poor side of town where
their parents couldn
't afford barbers.
OOPS! Darn fat fingers.........
