Hello G0NBD ...
I see your posting ALL@GBR made it over here to Canada.
Thanks for the frequency ... will give 144.800 a listen.
Wondering also why you picked that frequency..if there is zero
activiity.
Here in Ontario, we have a variety of frequencys to hangout
on from. Well in my location ... so if anyone from Ontario
my local or otherwise is lurking out there reading along
you can post something from your area to improve our knowledge
bank <g>...
Oh yeah... I use 144.930 and 145.630 and 145.710 for packet
and for APRS which I have not figured out, 144.390 for VE3RPT
the flagship Repeater of the Toronto FM Communications Society.
I know, in your part of the world ...and I only say this
after reading packet messages...but it seems packet is in
decline...but here in Ontario...we have increased. We can
get close to and maybe into Toronto....but we go more then
200 miles north ...and it is increasing as seen this morning
with the forwarding partners of this BBS on Vhf RF.
Not only that...but BBSes once beyond being linked are now
linked...and it is great to see Ontario hams leaving their
TNCs on-air to allow others to reach distant stations and
BBSes.
I hope G0NBD...and others that this gives you encouragement
to keep going with Packet, and please talk it up at your
local club ...as well at fleamarkets snap up those used
TNCs.
Regards G0NBD and all the packeteers reading along...
ttfn
