RAFARS COUNCIL VACANCY
Chris GM0TQJ is leaving the RAF and has tendered his resignation from your
Council. All members can apply to fill the vacancy. Written nominations,
proposed by five members and countersigned by the nominee, should be sent
to the General Secretary before June 30th 2008. If a ballot is required,
the result will be announced at the October AGM. Please note that Council
can co-opt a member to fill this post until that AGM.
QAP FOR VO2/GM0TQJ FROM LABRADOR CANADA.
Chris GM0TQJ 3458 will be QRV from the Canadian Provence of Labrador
(Locator GO11PN) during the period 23 Sep to the 02 Oct 2008.
The callsign will be VO2/GM0TQJ.
Chris will be QRV on 80-10m RTTY, PSK31/63 and SSB.
Working conditions will be a Kenwood TS480SAT 100w, Antenna 80-10m Windom.
QTH very close to the North Atlantic coast with a good take off to Europe.
QSL will be to my home call via the buro or direct as shown on QRZ.COM.
RAFARS ANNUAL DINNER AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
Details will be including with the Summer QRV mailing but a resume is now
on the RAFARS web site.
SES GB90RAF INTERIM REPORT
On April 1st, using voice, morse and data transfer modes, seven uniformed
members and six civilian members of the society made 364 contacts with
radio amateurs in the UK and 32 other countries across the World.
During the 28 day period of the NOV, over 3000 contacts were made.

G4FAI QTHr soonest. A SES G6HL is planned for the near future.

GB4FFR/GB8FFR FLIGHT PATH FOR FRIENDSHIP AND RECONCILIATION
A Special Event Station run by East Riding of Yorkshire Club member G3JDY
RAFARS 5044 will be operational from 30th May to the 1st June from the
Control Tower at Elvington Air Museum. A 1154/55 tx/rx will operate on all
bands except 160m. GB8FFR will be used on VHF/UHF. QSL Cards will be sent
on request via Services, RSGB or direct with SAE to Bernard G0SWO.
The event also includes the Doncaster Air Gunners Association.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
Report for 1 Apr 2008 90yrs of the RAF 1000-1300hrs. Number of contact 39,
25 RAFARS including GB90RAF, GB70RAF, GB1RAF, G3ATC, G8LGC, GB2AIR, G0RAF,
GM3RAF, G3PSG and 2E1RAF. Conditions were good till 1300hrs when the noise
level became very high. Once again Rex G0CLR attended and helped with the
operating.
GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500hrs local on
RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.
