Unfortunately I can't imagine any software author investing thousands of
man-hours producing and supporting a program for such a dinosaur mode as
AX25 packet radio, where the number of potential users worldwide would
struggle to reach 10.

The new digimodes are where the real digital action is these days, and
packet is irrelavant to most people.

When I listen to the local hams, who used to all be on packet, slagging it
off, I realise there's absolutely no chance of winning them back, no matter
what software is available. They've been there and done it, and got bored
with it, and now they're into Echolink, Skype, Facebook, Yahoo Groups, PSK31
or even HF SSB.

I presume you're referring to using WinPack with XS32 BBS? That *is* possible,
as one of my regular users is doing so.
