Well &ndy, let me say that your recent contributions have not contributed
much to packet, being mostly gibes at fellow amateurs. Why don't you lead
the way with some sensible contributions?

In my 53 years as an amateur I have been using packet from the days of
Commodore 64s and the program written for that computer - almost from the
beginning of packet radio. That is a long time, possibly 30 years, maybe
more.. I have progressed through various programs, some I can't recall the
name of, but there was Paket, TPK, and several versions of Winpack.

In my time on packet I have appealed for information on a number of
aspects of technical problems I had with computers and programming. I have
had many sensible answers, some of which have helped me to solve a
problem.

During the past few years I have contributed technical material - for
instance I wrote a bulletin on how to manufacture mobile whips using
easily obtainable material, I have written other bits and pieces about
amateur radio, some historical, some logs of VHF and UHF openings which
would be of interest to some VKs. I have also received plenty of flack
from overseas mostly from one country which I will not name, from people
who seem to be able to tell other hams what they should be doing, or who
spend their time sniping at anyone who dares express an opinion.I have
read endless reams of stuff on just about every aspect of life in
Australia from someone with no direct knowledge of the place, who has
never visited here, some of his contributions bordering on the
patronising.

Get down off your ivory castle Andy. It's not over or you would not be
writing that bulletin.

I know you have made good contributions in the past but lately you have
been less than helpful with your comments. Packet is what YOU make it. You
are in this as well as the rest of us. Stop moaning and contribute
comething of value.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
