The only thing I can say with any degree of certainty is the YL Net took off
for greener pastures on the internet. South Africa used to be fairly active
with non net members, like many countries in Europe I don't know where or why
they've gone. I remember large regions that became isolated when links went
down and those who were active fell off the radar, I suspect that is the
major reason for the decline in packet as Telnet can't fill shoes the size of
radio's. That BTW happened before the last assault by the trolls, they just
put packet out of it's misery so to speak.
