That is true, but generally outlaws don't indiscriminately gun down
innocent people including students in their classrooms, as has happened
with persons, sometimes children, who had autmoatic weapons.. Guns were
banned here after a madman in Tassie went into a cafe firing an automatic
weapon and killed 30 people, all innocent strangers. We hear  in  the news
of the indiscriminate shooting of students in schools by kids with guns.
These are NOT criminals with guns, they are ordinary people mostly young.

They took the automatic weapons away here, after demands from the populace
that the Government so do so. Non automatic weapons are permitted with a
permit. At least with a single shot gun only one person can be shot at a
time and the gunman might not get a second shot in.

The gun lobby lost that one. Australia is a safer place.
