Hi Ian and survivors,
Since you don't understand the last couple of bulls that tells me you're
unfamiliar with my banning. Right, Trev wasn't too quick on the trigger,
something about an axe in the head pushed the situation over the top. No big
deal, when things calmed down he opened the BBS again and things returned to
normal.
The "we" should be "I" because while you couldn't see my bulls others node
hopped around the blockage and we carried on. BTW a "gateway" is more
properly an internet gateway, in pure form there is no radio, all Telnet for
users and internet forwarding with other so equipped BBSes. Trevor ran a
combo that also had radio ports, fairly common these days to serve those
within radio range (HF/VHF/UHF) and those cut off from the network such as
myself. For what it's worth his was the biggest node/BBS in the UK at the
time which may have led you to believe he could cut off the islands at the
flick of a switch. Obama can't shut off the internet either. (;->)
Bradd is a moot point, as far as the packet network goes the US has been dead
in the water for years. If you or anyone else is blocked by a node/BBS we'd
never notice with the dearth of US traffic that goes outside small areas.
When I had radio contact I rarely saw anything @USBBS or which of a few H
codes floating around let alone @WW. Once upon a time we were the heart and
soul of packet thanks to TAPR and a few others, pioneers of AX25 but the
Empire has fallen... oh well.
Indiana? If you're really all that interested there's always Google Maps.
Then again if you feel unwanted... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaQZcK_IS40
