Goood morning all.
I attended the Bedford Hamfest today. ( I am also a member)Hoosier Hilla Ham Club W9QYQ
Attendance was light. But enthusiastic.
I went looking for a tower (3rd one going up) For TV may end up with a antenna at very top :)
Found one just as the fest opened $50 cool. I was set.
Ok.. Real reason for bulletin.
I have severl hams from all over look me up. Enquiring about packet. at leats 9 hams. Also everyone I was looking for was also looking for me.
The interest is indeed HIGH .
I have never had this many ask me about packet at the local fests ever.. I would almost ahve to say with the light attendance about 5% of those in attandance asked me about packet.
Thats based on about 15 inquires out of about 300 Attendees.
All wanting to help get the network established
as users offering to run a node as well.
With all the inquiries about packet and the request to attend the Fort Wayne Hamfest and the following..
I am going to try to get ahold of as many hams as I can that used to also runpacket and see oif they would help with this effort by turing their systems back on..
The IDHLS efforts that are being increased. Forming a committee to establish a PLAN for all EOCs in Indiana.
The NTSD efforts.. to use packet to transport NTS traffic
Our efftors to build the public networ and offer our stations to help both efforts.
The forums at the FortWayne Hamfest and all envolved.. We should see some increased atcivity this time in Major Stations and Users.
But we need everyones help.
I will follow up with more info.
