Hi Tony and all,

To clarify my previous bull and your "what you consider acceptable" comment,
Icom is the picky one when it comes to input voltage. Most rigs will operate
down to 9V where the battery is considered flat but Icom gets unstable at
11V. Yeah, Phil has an Icom with a tom tom (his words, my pun).

This gold plated contacts stuff gets silly except with computer cards with
both finger stock and sockets gold plated as they should be. Phil's gold
plated fuse holder contacts are iconic, I've never seen a fuse with gold
plated contacts in my life! What good is it when the fuse gets all
corroded??? Well, there is a market for such nonsense, oxygen free copper
spealer wire too. Once upon a time there were audiophiles, as expert as
expert can be but advertizing psychology (a branch of behavioral psychology)
has found its niche, now we also have audiophools. Oh, make that speaker wire
and blame it on fat fingers.
