Reading about the Mini on 'TODAY' reminded me of a little known secret.

It was the Mini van, not the car. It weighed less and had different final
drive ratios. The gave it the performance of a Go-Kart.One version in our
firm's garage did 110 mph, while another only did about 75 but with great
acceleration!

I did drive the Mini 1800, the 1200 and the Cooper so I could make
comparisons.

The 800 cc mini had a great performance. Due to bad management by greedy
companies. The Mini became one of those cars which turned into a fake German
Mini with a much bigger engine. I have heard the Mini sneered at by the
presenters of the programme !Top Gear! who's presenters weren't even born when
the Mini was !
If you want a really fun Mini, try getting your hands on a surviving British
one.

As for Jeremy von Klarkson he can carry on driving expensive super cars like
the Veyron and other cars which are just a Volks wagen or a BMW under another
name......
