Thanks for your replies everyone...I'm now using the 5 diodes as
a replacement bulb for an old lantern - 4 x NiCd voltage and a 100 Ohm
resistor into these 5 diodes gives about 22mA, presumably spread
reasonably evenly since they appear at the same brightness.
If I can guess their maximum current rating I might be brave
and take the current up ;-)
