			A reason for compressed forwarding.

Going back about 15 years, I was on RF and using TPK with compressed
forwarding to save air time. I called in on a 'friend' who bragged about
being able to read people's messages, including mine, on his computer and
a rig tuned to packet frequencies. He didn't seem to understand why I
wasn't bothered. There had been a time with earlier programmes when i had
sent packet messages in plain text but that was years before and there was
nothing special or secret as we all know.
I could see on his screen that all he had was callsigns and data from most
people, a bit like trying to read 7Plus.

Even now, when I am forced to use internet forwarding aand compression
doesn't give an increase in speed, I still keep the FBB compression as one
more level of security.

All the best for the Solstice (if you celebrate that) a merry christmas
and a happy 2013.
