This story is an eternal "fairy tale" which I never understood.
The worth of the expeeriments of the brother Wright are not
denied but I do wonder that always (beside other invention by the
"hero of Menlo Park, claiming invention by himself which are
realy done before by other) is pretended?
Even it is not really sure that JATHO was the first one ,( I did
hear and cannot find correct information abt that matter) , I
once received an information that two yeas before another man in
Australia should have done it was well.
But as said: no clear info..
Jatho was a Cicil Servant in the city council of Hanover, my
city, but he had nothing to do with technical innovation. He was
in the administration.
Unfortunatelly there are no more written information because -
proved by witnesses who gave very precise details from their
memory - it had been lost by the air raids in WW 2.
In the airprot of Hanover here is an aviation museum and there
you can see all known details.
Last year they tried to repeat the experiment but for some reason
(as far as I remember: bad wheather) they stopped it with the aim
to do it this year again.
Is it possible that you put this mail as an "RE" into the box??
However my friend,
we have to be very thanksfull to ALL THESE MEN who very often had
to spend their lifes for the progress of air traffic..
