Hello Ian G0TEZ , as well those reading the TODAY @WW postings;

Ian ... You were right on with your comments!

I think I had this out, with someone over being a veteran, and
I guess he missed the point, but your comments echo mine from
another area of Great Britain.

After the war, and the soldiers etc went home, most to places
not even touched by the war, where they just took up what they
left whenever, and all was great in the world ...only they forgot
those left in the theatres of WAR because we suffered.

I guess too, thats where I got my taste for a onion sandwich Ian,
as we had them too, and being rual like you, we had our eggs
and in some ways lived off the land, or that land, that was free
of live ammo. I can only imagine what France must of been like
if not dealing with the images of WW1 they had others of WW2,
as I have seen from imagines sent me by family and friends.

I can not even remember when I had any sweets, and only well
after the 1950s, and of course once we left Scotland for CANADA.

Offically, WW2 started 1939 and ended 1945, but as I look at
our family WW2 started long before 1939, and I have no real idea
when WW2 ended, as we left, and I think only 1960 plus things
started to lookup, if one can say that.

I painful period, not only for ourselves, but many others ...
