Thanks Ian and Barry for the postings about "PR" in your part of
the world, or as barry Calls it "Preferred".
No Ian, I well understand the idea behind PR as they tired to get
it in here, and it was called "FVC" or Fair Vote Canada, and
as mentioned I had a chat with one of those pushing for my vote
on the issue, But as mentioned before he didn't like my stand
against it, which stands. From your posting, ok thats how
you vote for your representatives to the EU ... well I guess
you are right I don't understand that...as we're not in the EU.
Canada does not have frozen ridings like most countrys. We have
"Representation by Population" ...thus at any given year a riding
here can change boundaries, and we get an extra seat in Parliament
which is thankfully held by that candidate that recived the most
votes, and represents that riding. As a taxpayer, I accept
paying for that hogs at the Parliamentarian tough at feeding time
or better still Pay Cheque time, and also 8 years later a full
pension....which I have to wait for when I am 65.
Still not convinced over PR or FVC ....I am old fashion get out there
and win your riding....not coast in a looser, cause the system
that was proposed here says we have to make room for minority this
or thats. I see no value in it. My MP in Ottawa does a good
job, and I didn't vote for him as the MPP in Toronto. No whining
just wait for the next election and get rid of the candidate
or better still vote for the "one" who represents your views.
