THIS MONTH RAFARS AGM AND DINNER SATURDAY 27 OCT 2012.
Full details were in Autumn QRV Journal and NL 172.
Would Members who are unable to attend the AGM also fill in and return the
form to HQRAFARS which were enclosed in the Autumn QRV Journal.

RAFARS QRV JOURNAL.
2013 is the 75th anniversary of your Society. In the Spring edition of QRV
the editor, Roy G0TAK, proposes not only to reflect the anniversary but to
look forward to the future by including articles from ATC cadets, our next
generation, as well as reminiscences of members.
If you have an idea for an article please contact him to discuss it ASAP.
Roy also needs the usual input of Articles, Rally Reports, Pictures, Feed-
back on previous event/items, etc. is needed by early January.
Whatever you send, if it is RAF/Radio/Amateur oriented, then it will be
considered. If you want QRV, (an award winning amateur radio journal),
then your input is vital to its continued success.
Send to/Contact Roy G0TAK QTHr or email g0tak@@kencomp.net

RAFARS IS 75 YEARS OLD IN APRIL 2013.
Next year RAFARS is 75yrs old. It would be appreciated if RAFARS members
make a big effort to tell the world by either putting on SES or write ups
in your local Papers/Journals. Do not leave it too late - only two months
till January 2013 and, don't forget, it takes at least a couple of months
to organise these things. RAFC Cranwell RAF Locking and RAF Cosford, our
HQRAFARS during the last 75 years, should be our main operating locations.

A RAFARS NET ON 5MHz
Having been a 5MHz NoV holder almost from the outset of the scheme I have
noticed that there are not many other RAFARS members putting their head
above the parapet. I would like to propose that a regular net be started,
if for nothing else, to create a RAFARS 'presence' on the 5MHz allocation.
If you are a NoV holder then please get in touch with me so that we can
arrange something. If you know anybody who has a 5MHz NoV please ask them
to get in touch with me as well.
If you are a full licence holder and would like to get the appropriate NoV
you can download the form of the Ofcom written application from the RSGB
website via Band Plan, HF, 5 MHz. There is no fee for the application.
Having sent off your application, and eventually obtained your NoV, once
again, get in touch g0tak@kencomp.net

GB2BP BLETCHLEY PARK
On the 1st January, 2013, the eighteen year association of the Milton
Keynes Amateur Radio Society (MKARS) and Bletchley Park will finally come
to an end due to MKARS having to vacate their current clubhouse.
The main reasons for Bletchley Park serving notice on MKARS are due to:-
The building currently occupied by MKARS is required to make way for the
creation of a new park entrance and an access road to the coach park.
With no additional space that MKARS could occupy, it has been deemed that
the Milton Keynes Amateur Radio Society will not fit into the future World
War II profile of the Bletchley Park Museum.
By representing the voice of both Amateur Radio and Bletchley Park to the
world, the call sign GB2BP has made friends in many countries for the
Milton Keynes Amateur Radio Society and created interest in the amazing
work that was carried out within Bletchley Park during WWII.
Although GB2BP will not be in residence at Bletchley Park after the 1st
January 2013, it will re-appear occasionally as a special event station
supporting public events on Bletchley Park.
Further details will become available on the MKARS website,
just visit http://www.mkars.org.uk/
