Freedom of Information: Internal review
Thank you for your email dated 29th January 2007, requesting Ofcom to carry
out an internal review of its response to your original request for information
in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act').
In your original request you asked for a copy of the UK amateur radio call book
data, what format this could be provided in and what the cost would be.
We have made appropriate and proportionate internal enquiries in response to
your request for a review and considered your case very carefully.
However, while Ofcom holds the information you have requested, we consider we
are unable to provide the information until a full audit of the data and associated
processes has taken place. This planned audit will confirm the currency and
accuracy of the data.
This will take several months but will be finished before the end of the
year; we will be in touch once it is complete.
The exemption in Section 40 is an absolute exemption and does not require
a public interest test.
We are addressing the other observations you have raised separately.
