1 July GB0AFD ARMED FORCES DAY.
To commemorate Armed Forces Day with the local Veterans Association.
A large event will be held in Alexandra Park Hastings Sussex together with
all local associations. This will be held on Sunday 1st July using the
callsign GB0AFD (Armed Forces Day) We hope that many Ex Servicemen
Operators from RNARS and Royal Signals Association will give us a call and
help build up interest for the general public attending the event.
Our intended operating bands will be SSB or CW or PSK31 on 80/40/20m/30m.
Depending on conditions other bands may be tried. We will have a Linear
300/400W using wire dipoles, we will also monitor 2m and 6m CW or SSB.
Our times of operation are from 10am till 1600pm. We would welcome any

Any member may attend Council meetings but travel costs can not be paid.

16/17 JUNE LANCASTER BOMBER EASY ELSIE SPECIAL EVENT STATION SE2EE
Richard SM2TOS (not RAFARS) informs us that he will make an expedition to
the Lancaster bomber NF-920 Easy Elsie which crashed at Porjus in Sweden
on 29 October 1944. Provisional date for the expedition will be June 16/17

MUSEUMS ON THE AIR.
Museums on the Air this year will be 16/17 and 23/24 June 2012.
GB2RAF will now not be able to take part due to other commitments by the
Museum Manager who will be away on that date.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
De-brief Sat 12 May GB2RAF was unable to be operational due to other
urgent commitments.
GB2RAF will be operational normally every 2nd Sat of the month. Primary
frequency is 3.710Mhz but if 80m is down we will be found on 7.065Mhz.
Any RAFARS Member can operate the station but contact Terry G4PSH first
for your licence Call-sign confirmation and please bring an ID with you.
RAFARS QRV JOURNAL NEEDS URGENT INPUT FROM MEMBERS.
Does anyone remember any of the RAF callsigns (not Amateur Calls)
that you used in your various RAF postings? Out of date ones obviously,
like Aden 1960 KX4A Please let me know, I will put the list together
for the next QRV Journal
The Autumn edition of QRV is currently in preparation,
but it is hugely under-subscribed, to the measure of about 40 Pages.
The editor needs YOUR input, Articles, Pictures, Feedback on previous
items. Whatever you send will be considered, but keep it RAF/Radio/Amateur
oriented. If you want QRV, (an award winning amateur radio journal) then I
NEED input from you all by the end of June.

in the RAFARS QRZ page 42 or inform Andrew what you wish him to do with
the cards. If nothing heard your QSL Cards will be sent to the RSGB Bureau
after 6 months of being received and your call sign removed from the NLs.
RAFARS Council are drafting a letter relating to the new RSGB QSL Bureau
regulations and the RAFARS Members will be advised in due course.
The bottom line is that you have to be an RSGB Member to receive and send
QSL Cards via the RSGB Bureau.
If you are in contact with any of the above list, please advise them to
contact Andrew or send a SSAE to the RAFARS QSL Bureau.
