The Spring QRV was posted out in late March. Any member who has still not
received their copy should contact the Gen. Sec.
QSL CARDS
Council is considering the implications of the RSGB decision to charge non
members for processing their QSL cards. Further information will be given
in future newsletters and the Autumn QRV.
REMINDER RAFARS MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS.
The Treasurer would like to thank all members who have paid their 2012/13
subscriptions so promptly, by mid April almost 75 percent had been
received by Standing Order or Cheque. Prompt payment is a great help as
it avoids the time and cost associated with having to record and send out
reminders so just a gentle reminder to those who have not yet paid, could
you please do so soon.

The contact names for the SES/Contests are there for you to contact that
person and give them your help and support, they cannot do it alone.
So if the event is your area pop over even if its only for a few hours of
your time, I am sure if you do not like Operating/Setting up the SES then
I am sure even just making the Tea/Coffee would help out a lot.

LANCASTER BOMBER EASY ELSIE SPECIAL EVENT SE2EE
Richard SM2TOS (not RAFARS) informs us that he will make an expedition to
the Lancaster bomber NF-920 Easy Elsie which crashed at Porjus in Sweden
on 29 October 1944. Provisional date for the expedition will be June 16/17

CALLING ALL EX RAF BOY ENTRANTS.
Mike GD0HYM 2553 is thinking of putting on a SES for RAF Boy Entrants
(Call-sign GB0BEA Boy Entrant Association) sometime next year, he would
like some feedback from ex B/E RAFARS members.
You do not have to be RAFARS or RAFBEA members to take part but RAFARS
could be the launch pad for the SES. It will be for a weekend or maybe
two if there is enough support and we will try and find a weekend without
a contest. It will be on 80 or 40m and aimed at the U/K. There will be a
Special QSL Card.
If you are an ex B/E and would like to hear a SES on the air relating to
the RAF B/E then please contact Mike at <aquatechiom@mcb.net>, QTHr in
the QRZ call books and on www.qrz.com
MUSEUMS ON THE AIR.
Museums on the Air this year will be 16/17 and 23/24 June 2012.
GB2RAF 5010 will be operational on Sat 16th therefore GB2RAF will be
operational on the third Saturday in June not the second Saturday.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
De-brief Sat 14 Apr 2012. Only 22 Stations worked. RAFARS members M0RGI
and G0SDZ. As conditions not very good and not many G land stations on the
bands, I went on 40m most of the afternoon on SSB and worked GB100GWT
Marconi and Titanic 100yrs special.
CQ CW DX 14.055 at 1200-1205 No reply.
CQ CW on 3.567 at 1300-1305 No RAFARS on Freq
GB2RAF will be operational for Museums on the Air, Jun 16, instead of the
usual 2nd Sat.
GB2RAF will be operational normally every 2nd Sat of the month. Primary
frequency is 3.710Mhz but if 80m is down we will be found on 7.065Mhz.
Any RAFARS Member can operate the station but contact Terry G4PSH first
for your licence Call-sign confirmation and please bring an ID with you.
RAFARS QRV JOURNAL.
The editor G0TAK, is already looking for your articles, snippets, stories
and pictures for the autumn and future editions of QRV.
Please send your items, if possible as a MS Word attachment to a covering
e-mail. Send diagrams and photography as jpg attachments to the QRV Editor
g0tak@kencomp.net or Royal Mail QTHr until otherwise advised.

after 6 months of being received and your call sign removed from the NLs.

Andrew or send a SSAE to the RAFARS QSL Bureau.
