Arcadia Publishing is set to release "Bay Area
Radio," detailing the key events and history of
radio in the San Francisco Bay Area. The book
highlights some of the area's early events,
including Charles "Doc" Herrold's broadcasts in
1909 from his radio school in San Jose to a young
NBC settling its West Coast headquarters in 1926.

"Bay Area Radio" was written by noted radio
historian John F. Schneider with assistance from
the California Historical Radio Society and the
Bay Area Radio Museum. It goes on sale March 5.
