I started with a original IBM PC (Green MDA screen & IBM floppy DOS) &
terminal programs like YAPP. (Yet Another Packet Program) or non specilased
programs like Xtalk. Then I got a really expensive IBM XT with a hard drive &
the much better Packet 5 program. Both were into a Pac-Comm TNC 220, which I
still run into a FT290R1.

I also did some /M work form a UK canal boat using a small "Microscribe" dumb
terminal (LCD 40char x10 lines), but I did find @ 4 MPH the contacts & routes
changed too often & links dropped out!

I now use a Compac Deskpro with reliable Windows 98 & Paket 6.2, still with 2M
RF link to local node (I am lucky there is still one!).

For /P demonstrations etc, I use a Toshiba Sat 4600 (has comms port) with
Paket6.2, or if 12V only a really old B/W Dos Del laptop.
