The modems that I can remember using were the PK232 and the PK96. Then I
had a modem that was a card fitted in the computer (386 I think - long
time ago now!)
That was many years ago now. I also had a Siemens which was converted by
me for ham use. My son worked for the Post Office in Perth central and had
a shed full of the things which had been thrown out by the Department.
Noisy but they worked. I was building up a matrix keyboard for the thing
using diodes but then it all became easy with the PC.
