Where ever you may be.
Someone here in my neighbourhood is searching for his uncle. The uncle should
be a radioamateure. By the Internet I have already collected a lot of things
about him.
Arend Venema, VK3CHP, comes from the Netherlands and should live in Sebastopol
southwest of Alice Springs, Victoria. He was born in 1929. During about 1994
he was back in The Netherlands for a while and used the calsign PA3GIG but
left to Australia again.
In the packetnetwork I found some messages from him. These were written in
1996 and home bbs was VK3CHP@VK3KAY.#WEV.VIC.AUS.OC. I couldn't find this bbs
so I think the bbs is QRT so as many of the bbs-es are already. I haven't find
younger messages or other things from recent years. He also should have a
website but when connecting the link mentioned in QRZ.COM there is no contact.
We'll wait with writing to the E-mail adress till we know more. When possible
it should be a surprise to Arend when someone from his far away family writes
him.
Does someone know if Arend, VK3CHP, is still alive and also active as a ham?
He should be 82 years now.
