Hi Guys (and Dolls)

I started with a VIC 20 and a home-built thing using a NE556 PLL IC to
code and decode RTTY. An old Siemens RTTY machine took care of the
printouts.

Then came packet! And BAYCOM and it's modem. At the same time someone
built a simple modem that resembled a HAMCOM modem to use with BAYCOM and
it was fun to use such a simple thing.

Then, many years later a visit to England introduced me to WINPACK in it's
early stages. I got a copy from Roger and couldn't use it for the lack of
a proper modem. Then came SV2AGW with AGWPE. And it's been Winpack and a
soundcard ever since.

Have you guys ever tried MixW on packet? It works fine with a soundcard.
I built a circuit to do the PTT switching as soon as the sound comes on
and it makes PSK and SSTV easy to use as well.

Anyway, whatever you may use, enjoy PACKET RADIO and keep it alive, even
if it is by bickering over everything!
