Temperature sensitive paper aye? Once upon a time I had a photocopy
machine and a FAX that used it, give it a few weeks and everything went
brown. (Insert comment about crappy here.)
My intro to packet was in 1996 when a local ham friend sold me his
station minus the rig I already had and the race was on. Well, good start
anyway, then the memory battery leaked and corroded the mobo, one 386 bit
the dust. I picked up the pieces and by this time had enough computer
savvy to build a 486DX60 and I discovered there's more to life than
packet.
Oh, for a little musical accompaniment play Strauss' Bahn Frei Polka.

That story of the Commodewhore and two discs (mind yourself Warren)
reminds me of a packeteer I hooked up with at the other end of the New
Jersey network and found he was using just that. Reminds me of one of
Spock's comments; "I'm trying to make a nemonic memory out of stone
knives and bear skins." To make a long story short, when he discovered
what I had going he went out and bought the best 1998 had to offer and
stubbornly refusing help of any kind the fun began. No, I didn't say to
make a long story even longer.
