The chief thing I remember about TPK, Ian, was that I could programme
tunes which played when a message came in, or when I connected. Can't
remember the exact details now. Seemed like fun at the time. Yes, Paket 5
and then Paket 6 were the two I could not recall. They worked well enough
but I preferred TPK.. I used a modem for some years but gave that away
finally to someone who wanted it. I didn't need it any longer.
I have never been particularly interested in programming or working out
how something worked. I am more of a practical person. If it works I leave
it alone and don't worry my head about how it works. Life's too short.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.

I am like you,Bob I don't remember the name of my first packet programme.
I lnow it was the kind that ran with the plug in unit to COM 1 which
contained two chips, a modem chip and an HDLC chip, the o/p went to the
mic and spkr of your rig.
