I am like you,Bob I don't remember the name of my first packet programme.
I lnow it was the kind that ran with the plug in unit to COM 1 which
contained two chips, a modem chip and an HDLC chip, the o/p went to the
mic and spkr of your rig.

PaKet 5 and PaKet 6 came later.

I have just remembered one I tried toward the mid 90s, that was NPFPMS,
probably as good as TPK but with the addition of a 'Ping' function and
designed to be a node, even a BBS if you wanted - which I didn't so tried
it, changed back to TPK.

I remember seeing msgs with the R: lines of NPFPMS within the last three
years and not just being used by G8NPF either.

I don't think we are suffering from senile dementia, it is just that there
were so many programmes and so many more important things over 20 + years
that it is hard to remember them all Ian.
