Hello Andy and any other TPKers. I have used Winpack for about four years
as aerials are forbidden where I live. Winpack - Telnet is the only common
prog with telnet options so I am stuck with it.

Before that, I moved up from TPK 1.81 to 1.83d as they became available.

I still have a few backups of 1.83 on floppy, just in case.

The differences between 1.82 and 1.83 were, as far as I recall 1. it was
supposed to work better under Windows. 2. It had an excellent Not From
feature (BR RJMSG from Gnxxx) and a BR RJMSG TO topic.

It would also automatically reply to a msg with /ack or /qsl at the start
of a line(3).

4. It would automatically decode 7Plus.

I know Winpack will do that but 1.83d went like a bat out of h@ll,
especially if run under DOS.

I did one send a msg and an email to F1EBN, asking him if he would
consider
writing a version of TPK with a Telnet option but no response, even though
I wrote it in English and French.

I expect you already know but 1.82 can be upgraded to 1.83d without
downloading a complete new version.

Winpack was based on TPK. Roger, G4IDE said so. He was using TPK 1.82 when
he wrote Winpack.
