 I used Digicom(?) for my Commodore 64. There were other's long before
Winpack.  They worked well enough. I wouldn't call them "dumb" either.The
one before Winpack was TPK and that did not give me the headaches that
Winpack has.There was another that some hams used which I also tried. It
was OK but I can't recall the name now.
