This isn't quite the place for a rant BUT it's worth an answer anyway...
Reminds me of a song by Zager (sp?) and Evans "In the year 2525 if Man is
still alive..." and according to the greenies we won't be if we use grain
for ethanol. How about the brand White Lightning? Uh oh, there goes
another song. (;->) That reminds me, if you're going to grow it you have
to water it but the greenies have completely stalled dam and irrigation
projects so you can't feed your growing population either, hmmm.

Hammersley Iron will take care of the towers but HV lines have been
aluminium clad steel for more years than I can remember. First you need
electricity to smelt aluminium and you know what greenies think of coal
fired generators, another fly in the ointment. Then too those long EHV
lines are DC which requires a lot of silicon components for conversion,
more of those pesky flies taxing industry offshore (not out of existance)
so load your money on a boat to China.
No need to walk, we already have electric cars but the adverts say
nothing of the operating costs, gee, I wonder why. If you have a money
tree you may find a new sort of filling station along the highway. You
don't have to bring back camels, you already have plenty if you happen to
like those stubborn beasts that have a habit of spitting on you. Eh, it
beats walking a gazillion kilometres through the outback.
Houses are just fine as long as you don't heat or cool them, tents are
optional. On the other hand the sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona has a
tent city jail in the desert where prisoners wear pink jumpsuits and eat
sandwiches for pennies a day. Seems like an interesting lifestyle...
