MY LITTLE BITS OF HEAVEN
In the pages of this newspaper, I have described many times the several
parts of my radio station, but I always avoided to comment on the
location of antennas ...... Living in the center of Parma, has its
strengths and weaknesses, particularly because the center of the Town
origins can be traced to the Gaul establishment during the Roman Empire.
Have "everything" within earshot is certainly convenient, but when you
climb on the roof the situation is reversed.
Thinking of large unobstructed and easily accessible linear spaces
becomes almost a mirage. The houses have grown, over the centuries , in
highly irregular ways and overlapping each other.
Therefore to get a twenty meters lenght usable to hang a small dipole
may require acrobatics and precarious support points.
And more, if you want to add to the HF "something" for VHF - UHF and
1200 MHz bands, and a small weather station, everything turns into a
crossword puzzle.
In this "patch of sky", thanks to the cooperation of my neighbors, having
at disposal not more than 22 meters, and also on very different levels, I
managed to install these antennas:
A 25-meter PKW dipole , a Diamond folded dipole of 10 meters and a
Falcon vertical antenna, the last two used mostly for my HF / digital
activity.
Among these "wires" I found some place for a dual band vertical VHF and
UHF antenna, two triband verticals for V, U and 1200 and the small weather
station; it still remains another last point of support which I hope to
use before winter ... maybe for some QSOs ...... with UFOs.
Unfortunately, the logistics will not let me to put a beautiful HF
triband beam onto the terrace , but as for now I limit myself to ......
imagine.
