- In 1910...The temperature at Kansas City, MO, soared to 95 degrees to establish a
record for the month of April. Four days earlier the afternoon high in Kansas City
was 44 degrees, following a record cold morning low of 34 degrees.
- In 1937...A tornado formed 5 miles east of Ash Grove, MO. Minor damage and no
injuries were reported along the tornadoes path.
- In 1983...A violent tornado developed on the west side of Republic and tracked
northeast across the city. It then went back up into the storm only to reform over
south Springfield, tracked east along Battlefield road to areas east of Seminole and
Glenstone. Major damage was reported to homes and businesses with 2 deaths and 23
injuries reported.
