Hi Roger and all,
I hadn't taken note of the temperature but it was warmish and today seems
to be headed in pretty much the same direction. The NWS uses heated rain
gauges so you may consider a small modification?
FB on the GNWB but mine being a GSWB is dependent on the weather, it does
have an advantage however and that is saddle baskets for shopping so it's
my 2 wheel SUV. (;->)
Now what puzzles me is why people put away lawn mowers and snow blowers
at the end of the season without giving a thought to proper storage. A
thorough cleaning, draining fuel and oil and lube job sure makes things
easier when placed back in service. BTW that means running the carb dry
after draining the tank, varnish buildup leads to more work eventually.
At least you do the right thing with the battery, allowed to self
discharge and remain flat for an extended period will sulfate the plates
and ruin it.
Uh oh, I see a thread about to go political so rather than rant about the
price of fuel which has another major cause I'll just say that Lincoln
got it all wrong. Even in his day the North held the beginings of the
military industrial complex so the phrase "money talks" held true even
then. Here's the closing line of his Gettysburg Address as it should have
been if old honest Abe were truely honest: ...that government of the
people, by the government and for the rich shall not perish from the
Earth. Just to stick it in, the original phrase was "the persuit of
wealth" but that's a bit too obvious so it was changed to "happiness",
the first instance of political correctness since when you think about it
carries the same meaning.
If he's reading THAT should get a certain VK6's panties all in a knot.
