     Re the early 10 metre Dx, I was at that time using an indoor piece of
wire and a homemade ant tuner. USA AM sigs were S9+ and I worked dozens on
low power. The signals were so strong that they sent my home built
receiver into a vibrating oscillation. Possibly due to air wound coils.
     Last year I worked a VK5 on 6 metres fm, using my vertical ant.  He
was S9 +++    So I asked him was he holidaying somewhere close to me here.
But no, he was at home in VK5!
	Doesn't happen that way with extraordinary sigs very much these days
though?
