Hello Mike KC2GMM and others reading PACKET @WW ....

I agree with you. I have Packet radio and Internet split.
I enjoy the Internet, and I enjoy Packet radio, even with
it's limitations, and frustrations etc... and I realize
too that many have to use Internet to get to RF packet
as well the big network has shrunk to Internet filling
in the spaces. Big spaces.

The days of the school ham radio station are dead and buried
here. Most schools have removed the Ham radio Station and
replaced it with a up to date computer lab...the best pc
and Internet. Even the local club...well they dropped
packet, and are a quso-Internet computer club now with
a ham radio name.... A reason I dropped out as a member.

Agreed Mike.... And I guess that is or was the last
I heard from John KR0L ...as well he got some replys
and thats where it ended.

I still keyboard to keyboard tt with stations as
far south as Toronto regular.. 86km < 55miles >
and someimes north ... I also try stations and
callsigns I see in the "MH" cmd file...and try
to drop a message in their mailbox to let them
know I am here...but well that is a subject in
it's own...

There are people trying it, and well giving up.

Lots seem to also hang on to their TNCs, which is
great. Strange they don't use them but great.

When I am on HF < or was> or 2m VHF I also talk up
I am also on Paccket the dead mode...and I have
been successful to get a club back into packet
which is great.

Better get going ... here is Mike KC2GMM's
log again if anyone missed it the first time.
