It reminded me that, of the many books I have thrown away over the
years,the few remaining include the works of Asimov. One is called 'I
Robot' even though Asimov didn't write that story, it was the story by
Eando Binder that started him writing SF when he was 19. I do have another
compendium and the book Trillion Year Spree which he also contributed to.
If other books are anything to go by, the pages of the above will be
yellow by now, just like Games People Play which I found a while back.
It is nice to know that someone else has read SF, good SF, not the kind we
get on TV. If anyone wants to see good SF, look out for The Bicentennial
Man on it's next repeat. Apart from introducing a love interest and a
schmalzy ending, the film is almost identical to the book.
I don't rate Asimov as the best BTW. One of my first paperbacks was Slan
by A.E. van Vogt. I have also enjoyed stuff by CM Kornbluth, Fred Pohl,
Heinlen and Poul Anderson, to name just a few.
Now where did I last see the Foundation Trilogy ?
