Hi Ian and all,

So where are the all out there? I'm sure we're not the only ones
interested in science and sci-fi.

Yeah, I agree to a point but you see Professor Shroendinger had quite a
sense of humor; a stray neutron shattering a glass vial filled with
poison and killing a cat??? Maybe that's why Asimov picked up on it with
Pixel popping in and out of hyperspace, sitting on the console of the Gay
Deceiver and saying "blert"? BUAME, these days the emergency command "GAY
BOUNCE!" would cause quite a stir in some neighborhoods. (;->)

Yeah, the Nobel Prize became a sick joke when the political brown noses
took over and the fund became so bloated they couldn't give enough away
fast enough to justify their tax exempt status. Like you said, the Peace
Prize regardless of Obama (a living joke in himself) is rediculous when
there is no peace.
Alien: No Peace.
President: Then what do you want us to do?
Alien: Die.
Air Force captain: Is this glass bullet proof?
President: No.
(dead alien)
President: Nuke 'em, nuke the bastards.

Yeah, one of my favorite sci-fi movies contending for first place with
Forbidden Planet.

Well, Asimov wasn't the only one of the top authors who religated women
to the background, as a matter of fact most did. I don't know why nor do
I care, regardless of how they fit into a story it's either good or bad
depending on the author and not the women. Oh and BTW there were several
in various roles in the Foundation series (no longer a trilogy) so it's
not like the feminazis or fembots if you prefer the sci-fi term had
anything to grind their gears over. It might have been a different story
however when an L. Ron Hubbard book (pardon my senior moment) ended up on
the screen with John Travolta (yeah, THAT Johnny Revolting) in the lead
role as the alien commander. Then again the whole thing was so outrageous
I wonder if anybody would have noticed if his female secretary Cherk
showed up in the movie. ('->)

Hmmm, too bad they don't use paperbacks as ship ballast anymore, not only
do bored farmers get in trouble with the sheep but using water as ballast
has spread critters that don't belong and cause severe eco damage around
the world. Eh, at least bookworms are easy to get rid of, just burn the
books. Now what to do with millions of confused sheep?
