Here is my action plan if faced with your predicament:
Remove the top and bottom covers and look around inside for
a reset button, probably will find one tucked in a corner.
While looking for the reset switch keep an eye out for a
button battery that is most likely soldered in place. If the
switch cannot be found, then disconnecting one side of the
battery may be in order.
Presume the radio is around 20 years old, so if nothing else
let it sit without any power to it for a couple of days or
less, the button battery will drain off and cause the memory
to clear, which about as close to hard reset as one can get.
