RAFARS MEMBERS WITH POOR EYESIGHT 
Are members aware that George G3TQX 206 makes a 90 minute tape of the QRV
Journal and sends it out to members who are blind, partially sighted or
have other disabilities that prevent them from reading the printed version
of the Society's journal. 
If you wish to receive "Talking QRV" or you know of a member who would 
benefit from receiving it, please drop George a line. If you, or they, are
Registered Blind or Partially Sighted please mention this in your letter 
since this will allow the Society to use the free postal service available
for sending tapes to Registered Blind persons. George G3TXQ is QTHR in the
RAFARS Call Book.

90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE - SES GB90RAF
The RAF was formed on 1st April 1918 and RAFARS will be celebrating this
90th  anniversary. GB90RAF will be on air from our Cosford HQ from 0800
to 2000hrs on Tuesday 1st April 2008. 
So on the 1st of April all QAP around the RAFARS Net Frequencies.

70TH ANNIVERSARY OF RAFARS - SES GB70RAF
By co-incidence, this year is the 70th birthday of your society.
GB70RAF will be on air between 26th March and April 6th from a location to
be arranged in Dorset.

Everyone interested in GB90RAF and GB70RAF should look out for a RAFARS
Special News Flash which will be sent out on Packet and posted on our web
site - www.rafars.org - when all the details are available.

SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS GB4LRG GB2ASS
The Special Event Stations Long Range Desert Group with the Air Support
Signals will be operational from Colerne Airfield, Wiltshire SN14 8QY from
the 2nd to the 8th June 2008 on SSB CW on HF and maybe on RTTY and 2m FM.
RAFARS have been given an invitation to attend and assist and will be
treated as guests.
If you wish to participate contact Dennis GW4XKE who will give you full
details. However, if you turn up on the day you will require an I/D at the
Guard Room. Stations worked will be sent a QSL card via the RSGB or 
Services Bureau, SAE for direct QSL cards.

BELGIUM AIR FORCE ON40BAF SES SCHEDULE.
The Belgium Air Force Amateur Radio Association is celebrating its 40th
anniversary. Using the call sign ON40BAF, the station will be operational
during 2008. Contact George ON4TJ RAFARS 2186 for further information. 
For a ON4BAF Schedule QRV 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 1000hrs 
Belgium time on 3.723Mhz.

Editor, Roy G0TAK, says that he is desperate for
input from members for the Autumn edition. So please, please support your
Journal with Stories/News/Pictures/Events and Debriefs. Send them to Roy
by e-mail to <g0tak@kencomp.net> or by post to G0TAK (QTHr in QRZ). and to
arrive no later than the end of June.
All members should have now received the QRV Spring 2008 Edition.

A Field Rep will be invited to each meeting and travel expenses paid.
All members may ask to attend meetings but expenses are not paid.

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
Sat 9th Feb, 24 Stations worked including RAFARS G3RAF,G3VAO,ON40BAF,
2E0GDC,G3REM and M0WSR. Conditions good until 1300hrs when a PI Contest
started.
GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500 hrs local
on RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.
