Hi everyone,
My thanks to all that have made use of the bbs over the years and to the
loyal users of gb7fcr who helped keep the bbs afloat through difficult
times, it's been a pleasure to run the system for you all, But things
move on and users move away / go silent key / loose intrest in packet
over the years, this time last year there was 180- 250 connects per day
now thats down to 8 or 10 user connects and 20-30 bbs connects
transfering what little mail is still on the system.
What with the downturn in users and BT increasing line rentals again it
becomes no longer viable to keep the system running, just on cost
grounds alone, However thats not the only reason for my closing it down,
things are changing here, my health is worsening and I have other
changes going on in my life at the moment that are taking up all my
time.
(apart from doctors/hospitals/surgery) there are some nicer things
happening that have changed my life for the better..
Those of you that know me better will know / understand but that is all
I am saying on packet..
SO on the 1st september the bbs will be closing down..
I have already made the arrangements for the phone line to be switched
off and the adsl line disconected on that day, so this time there can be
no changing my mind after the announcement, the bbs is closing down on
the 1st september..
