Yes indeed, it is sad to see what the population has reduced down to.
Well, I guess when peak everything hits us and the internet deteriates to
the
point where it is basically inoperable then we might see a lot of packet gear
being dug out of cupboards.
One minor study I saw postulated that we will be able to keep a conventional
POTS telephone system going locally but I hope the Telstras of this world
don't
scrap all the copper under the roadways. We might well need it in the
future.
Perhaps I won't see it, but perhaps we should encoutage the maintaining of
as much RF gear as possible. Old repairable gear like valve txs and rxs might
be invaluable if all the valves have not dissapeared.
Any glass blowers around ?
