RAFARS AGM SATURDAY 16th OCTOBER 2010
The morning meeting for FRs has been cancelled. FR Matters will be an agenda
item in the AGM which will now commence at 1300hrs.
NATIONAL FIELD DAY SSB G8FC/P
This year G8FC/P obtained 2055 Points
Again this year Metheringham was hit by lightening which lasted for 5 hours
over three periods which effected 160 and 80m which accounted for a lower
number of contacts compared with last year and conditions into EU was better
than last year. Many thanks to just only 5 Contest Members, Roger G3ZDW i/c,
Art G3KWY, Tom G4OSB, Dick G4WZI and Peter G0NVG.with the average age of 70
who all enjoyed themselves. Well Done and a thanks to Hillary for the bacon
/egg butties on Sunday morning.
All we can now do is to await the official results from the RSGB.
FIGHTER FRIENDSHIP RECONCILIATION GB4FFR FROM A SUITCASE.
GB4FFR will be operational from the Control Tower at RAF Elvington
(Yorkshire Air Museum) on the 10/11 July 2010 mostly on CW on a T1154/55
and from a suitcase on 3.577Mhz also on SSB 80m from time to time operated
by Ken G4KCF and crew.
VETRIANS REUNION IN HULL GB2VET
GB2VET Veterans reunion will be operational from The East Park,
Holderness Road Hull July 30/31 and August 1 on 80m 40m and maybe 20m
also on VHF and UHF locally. Contact Bernard G0SWO FR. I am sure he would
like lots of support to help him set up and operate the SES.
GB4HFH HELP FOR HEROES AND GB5AFD ARMED FORCES DAY.
Both the above SESs will be activated from 1 Jul to 28 Jul from Dinas

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, an AOTA event
will be held over the week-end of Sep 18/19. This replaces the August Bank
Holiday proposal.
RAFARS MEMBERS REQUIRED TO ASSIST AIR TRAINING CORPS.
Urgently required, Keen and competent field day operators to supervise and
assist ATC Cadets in a Field Day weekend operating a Special Event Callsign
from the Village of Ingleton Yorkshire on the 3rd/4th July 2010.
Free camp site (bring your own tent), handy pub, lots of B+B accommodation
in the Village and a variety of events and things to amuse.
Opportunity to climb 2700 ft with a green radio on your back.

Date N/K Nov Endeavour STS134 to ISS with Express Logistics AMS plus spares.
ENDEAVOUR WILL BE THE LAST SHUTTLE TO VISIT THE ISS.
The ISS will then be fully operational for a relay/staging space station
to other Space Satellites, Planets and beyond by flight modules.
All Shuttle Flights are subject to delays.
