I dabbled in packet back in 1992, and yes there were many more Packet 
signals on the air then.

However, I am pleased to see what I consider to be a resurgence in 
Packet activity with the Internet providing a valuable link between 
existing NODEs.  Packet appears to be active in clusters with the 
Internet providing a link between these clusters.

Unfortunately there are also black holes where no packet activity 
exists.  However when someone such as myself establishes a Radio node, 
word does eventually get around, and people start to get interested again.

The Cathedral principle.  Build it and they shall come.
