Hello fellow hammies and those reading along, as I rabble and
babble along...hahahahaha;

OK .... just a note from a vet I knew that is no longer a ham
due to being imprisoned in a seniors home, where they seem to
have inmates sit about, get bored and waste away ....anyhow
on a visit and in earlier times when my friend used to pick
up the neighbour teens to go to this or that event, we were
entertained by his unique operating of his Amatuer Radio
while driving. This BTW is the 1960s , so you might have
an appreciation for what was available and not ... but he
was a real CW man ...not content to pound the brass at home
and slow enough on CH 2 <CB> he also pounded the brass
while mobile and as the car was in motion.

Ontario , has passed a law about cellphone use while driving
but "Uncle Harry" could pound the brass....twiddle with the
radio...make notes, and carry out a conversation, in CW
with ...his key strapped to his leg.... Just imagine today
the local Police pulling him over and tring to write up
this one. What amazed me, is he was driving until
his 80s, and could carry this feat out..as well yak with
anyone in the car, letting them know what was going on.

"Uncle Harry's " first call is lost most likely in the pre-war
records of 1918, as a young man at the emerging Insitiute
called Ryerson, he was one of two students, when the professor
asked if another had an interest in the latest new technology
called "radio" he and this other lad stood up ....

XHC ... WHC ... CHC and 9HC come to mind from some papers
I remember seeing in his home. What was a treasurer was his
communications and experiments with a call "9RB" that was
or ended up being a commerical broadcast station and is on
the air today in Toronto.

Lasting legacys by Ham Operators in this area ...and lots
more out there, not only here but in the world.

Anyhow .... the sad part is I see his call re-issued and
it brought back memorys and in some cases tears.
