What fun CB was and still is? Not quite so rowdy on the bnds but CN
nevertheless. Many live ago we had an organization called CES Citizens
emmergency service in the main we were used by hospitals to get
outpatients to clinic wait and return them to their homes. We made a new
friend every day and most of us were CBers so we could call and be called
over a fair radius. Mileage was paid at a going rate. Hams would never
dream of lowering themselves to this service:)

It was so very kind of you to write in and mention the work we did and
yes, in some areas CES is still serviced on CB.

Taxi/mini-bus/private ambulances all use it using differing channels each
day.

Many have mentioned the very rude packets aimed at me in person by
callsign and clearly they are not aware that as with names callsigns are
well known and identify the sender who because he has not written the post
SP privately to the person they are ridiculing (or trying to) the sender
is commiting an offence contrary to DPA 1998 and HRA 1998 and can be
summoned.

How sad it is that some 4 paketeers are still juveniles and need to be
reported to OFCOM Home Secretary. However they all have seven days to
withdraw there remarks and apologise by SB. The Minister for Justice
JackStraw has shown a keen interest in this area and is awaiting my
report.

Many of you will know that like us CB is now free until we switch to the
new frequencies in a few years time. My Base Uniden is already set up. My
Jesan88-900 is scanning 24/7 to deliver help where needed. 51s all

Best wishes, Rodge (g0cjm/g6xcj at gb7cow.#44.gbr.eu)
