Hi Pete and all,
Yeah, that song is spinning around in my head and three turtles with it.
I was a teenage mutant drummer once, at a jam I was taught that peculiar
beat in about 5 minutes and ended up drumming as they played it. The
whole thing is pretty easy, especially when kids are just having fun and
ar so forgiving of missed beats. (;->)
I can visualize a cop pulling me over on my board, they have those big
Hawaiian jobs with lights, siren and radio, all waterproofed of course.
Never mind Eric Estrada, he got fat and is selling swamp land in Florida
these days so if a wave comes it's see ya later alligator.
On a more serious note, that 400' canary would be the result of a
landslide where a tsunami is caused by an uplifting of the ocean floor, a
different kind of wave. There have been several postulations based on a
single incident when a landslide caused a wave to cross a bay (in
Canada?) swamping several boats (1 fater and son survived) and climbing
several hundred feet of steep shoreline on the opposite side. You
mentioned the wave produced by Krakatau, I note certain similarities. The
sea is fairly shallow in Indonesia so the oceanic wave would be
formidable, not so with a tsunami as recent events have shown. The result
of a landslide in the Canaries is purely speculative as oceanic
conditions are far different than Indonesia or a shallow bay.
It has been written words to the effect that Americans are complacent
about such things, I say we're not alarmists. I've seen TV shows and
movies about disasters since I was a kid (small goat actually) and
consider the whole thing science fiction drama. OK, if it happens it
happens and there's nothing that can be done about it, life goes on after
2012 when Obama consolidates his power and takes over the world much to
the chagrin of Brain and Snowball, Pinky just goes along for the ride on
my surf board.
Oh and I never figured out how to cow a bunga but I suppose you could
bunga a cow if you try hard enough.
What's the ugliest part of your body?
What's the ugliest part of your body?
Some say your nose
Some say your toes
But I think it's your mind
Your mind
Woop woop ah woo ooh ah ooh OOH!
