Thank you Ray. I was not sure what frequencies the F licencees are
permitted to use.

Re the 1950s argument about "associates" AKA Limited licencees I came into
the WIA in the thick of the fighting and things really became hot. Some of
the prewar amateurs called the limiteds "tadpoles" and ssaid they
wouldn'ty became frogs till they lost their tails (i.e. the Z in the
callsign). Following this the Z calls and their sympathisers, which
included me, formed the WA VHF Group. Most of us retained our membership of
the WIA and, in fact, I became firstly Secretary and then President of the
WA Division as well as doing the weekly news broadcasts..

Re my remarks about "old history" I was referring to the regurgitation of
old arguments about Australia of several years ago by a certain packeteer.
After all this time the argument is better left where it was - dead,
caput, finished, and not to be revived for the good of everyone on packet.

I agree with you about the F licence. Best thing that has happened to
Australian amateur radio in years. Good luck to them.

Cheers,
Bob VK6BE
