Thank you Warren for more info on Shep in New York.
If he were around today, could you imagine the listening
public he would have worldwide, via the Radio station
websites and listening online?

I still like the hoax he pulled, and the loyality of
his listeners who by the multitudes helped him pull
it off hahahahaha....

I was trying to figure out the connection of Elvis
and shep and Channel 9 ... and the only thing that
the Over the Hill Rink Rats could come up with
between the bubbles was that Elvis, early in life
was a trucker driver, who might have entertained
himselfe and others singing as he drove, and if he
had his CB radio...then he would have been in with
the many convoys ongoing across America and the
entertainment there that rolled all night, and
melted those miles away with the entertainment.

Oh dear, I am remembering my roadtrips, and the CB
and listening to jokes, chatter, singing and pre-taped
stuff that melted the miles between where I started
out and my destination. Hmmmm...it was quite
a lively crew those nights. Only sad part was when
somone had to depart another direction..but then
the slot was filled and we all carried on.

Of course nowadays travelling by car, or the van
with the RV on the hook, nighttime radio freqs
have changed, callsigns have disappeared or changed
hands, and whats on at night, are not what is expected,
or what I hoped for, from the past. All good times
have to come to an end. I have not tried a long
road trip so I can not say what CH 19 is like now.
Most drivers have cellphones and all this an wifi
Internet in the cab, so they have all they need
other then "bennies" to stay awake, to arrive.

Thanks again...for the memorys .... and more on
Shep.

Regards ...73 Pete VE3WBZ
